The Cutest Handbag In The World

the target near my house is part of a mall full of odd discount stores and a chuck e. cheese. about a month ago i was there picking up some kitty litter and i left through the exit that spits you out into the mall part, when walking by a newly opened store i saw The Cutest Handbag In The World. i nearly fainted dead away, i couldn’t believe my eyeballs!

 cuckoo clock handbag

i dropped the kitty litter and ran inside the shop. the lady took it off the display to check the price. being the kind of mall that it is, i nearly fainted dead away again when she told me it was $970. yikes! i was so shocked i ran out without checking the name of the designer. i was there again today, and some of the shock has worn off so i made a point of walking by to write down the name. i found this picture of it online at braccialini.it. i covet this handbag. the dangling pinecone zipper pulls are the most! sadly, i’ll call it The Cutest Handbag In The World That I Will Never Own.

$970?! Say what?! What a sad end to a magical moment. That bag is the BEST!

the really sad part is that even if it gets marked down to, say 75% off, it’s still too expensive for me!! i can’t even dream!

gosh, that’s too cute. i can’t believe it’s almost a grand! maybe some crafty vinyl gal could make one on commission for you?

I’ve got a magnet from Germany that is pretty similar to this, it comes with 2 hanging pine cones. Well, it does look attractive in a bag form.

Oh my gosh…I just skipped over from Calamity Kim’s and I can’t believe the price of this purse. It is adorable though!

this is weird. i was just doing a google search on “dirndl” to look for ideas for my halloween costume (a sort of swiss miss/bavarian/black forest thing — haven’t narrowed it down quite yet) and managed to find myself here. i’ve been a fan of your skirts for a while but never got round to ordering one (might have to rectify that immediately.) anyway, what’s weird is that a big factor in me doing that halloween costume is that i needed an excuse to make a cuckoo clock bag. i am imagining it will look somewhat like these bags i used to make:

it won’t be as amazing as “the cutest handbag in the world” but can i keep you posted in case you are interested in the finished product? :)

I LOVE THIS!!! :) When I was in Italy, I saw many hand bags that were different like this for as much as 3000 dollars… so I took pictures of them! :) Hannah, you could make this.

This bag is so makeable! It’s all a bunch of colored vinyl. You can buy all sorts of colored viynl at fabric shops! It’s kinda a pain to sew since if your stiches and tension are too high it will slice through. You could even paint on some of the details or glue on (use goop) alot of the little leaves and flower bits. I’m sure it would be a super large project, but definatly do-able. Use a real pine cone for the zipper pull :P If you want to have an even easier time, skip the vinyl and use some real fabric, like a brown velveteen or some coydroy. :)

What a wonderful bag!! The Braccialini bags are quite pricy, but various copies have been made of their bags, and can be gotten for around 80 dollars.
