world’s largest ric rac!

okay, i don’t know if there’s any truth to that claim, but it sure is the biggest ric rac i’ve ever seen…

world's largest ric rac!

i found this a long time ago (almost two decades!) stuffed in a bag of assorted trim at the thrift store. it was pretty thrilling! i made a red velvet dress way back when and used some of it on the hem, the remaining piece i have hanging above my sewing machine so i can look at it all the time. it’s made from some kind of woolly feeling yarn. oh, how i would love to have yards and yards of this!

I have some that size in red that I have been holding on to for a long time. Not sure what to do with it either…of course, I don’t really sew, so that limits me. :-)

I actually do have yards and yards of jumbo rick rack that someone sent me. perhaps we could do a swap? it isn’t in the best colors (white, cream, baby blue, light pink, purple, black)… let me know if you’re interested. I’d like to disperse some of it. :)

That size would be great for making rick rack flowers.

I just picked up a two yard piece (@ $4.00/yd!!!!) today at Tinsel Trading in NYC. It’s actually a grosgrain ribbon in a rick rack shape. I just have to have it cause it was so HUGE. Mine’s red and I treasure it already.
