i found this leather box at the thrift store yesterday while i was out running errands…
i don’t know where it’s from, but it reminded me of these croatian appliques i’ve been meaning to show you. i love them! (pictures are from the book ‘Yugoslavia/Croatian Folk Embroidery Designs and Techniques’)

thanks so much for mentioning that Yugoslavian/Croatian book!!! I *just* got back from my Grandma Nell’s 90th birthday party, and she is Yugoslavian! Now I am inspired to embroider her something, as it is a favorite hobby of mine. Your blog is really amazing.

Oooh, not been back here for a while and what a treat in store. I was lucky enough to go to Prague this winter and enjoy some Eastern European culture there. These folk designs are beautiful and a real inspiration.

hi hun, so you know yes that box is Croatian, i personally have 3 of them handed down from my Baca (grate grandmother) i love them more then words can say ^.^
