I love it! I am way into old taxidermy and taxidermy art, this stuff is so neat. The fox looks so funny with that hat!

I have mixed feelings on this kind of stuff. I do think the outfits themselves are pretty cute and I get the humor of the juxtaposition, but not sure I’m digging the whole dead critter thing. Oh well, glad I saw the photos anyway! Thanks.

i know alot of people find taxidermy gruesome. i think my fascination comes from one too many school field trips to the museum of natural history…if i find a piece at the thrift store or yard sale i’ll usually get it.

i love these outfits! especially the pink one in the second photo. i’m not into modern day taxidermy as i am vegan, but i realize it was a popular hobby in the past.

i also wanted to say that i love your style, your craft, your house, your yard art!!! i’ve poured through your flickr album and i’m amazed at your collections and creativity. i look forward to reading your future posts… thanks for sharing the whimsical world you’ve created!

Wow! I love it. I suppose I am a little creeped out too, but not enough to not love it. I especially love the pink outfit. I don’t even know what kind of animal that is. I wonder if this is considered generally gruesome in Bavaria. It also makes me think of Elizabeth McGrath’s work, and I love her. Do you know what Herzblut translates to in English?

I’m not a fan of taxidermy, but that ornament in his mouth is hilarious, I must say.

OMG!! I have a huge fascination with taxidermy. I am a vegan as well but being able to see and touch a creature up close that I would never get to see normally is just neat. I love the last pic.

Oh my god! That is so messed up. I mean it’s funny but creepy but then funny again. I think overall I am in awe of it. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Has anyone ever read Manikin? It has the creepy/cool taxidermy thing.

But, I’m a big fan all of your lovely craftiness!

The taxidermy part kind of gives me the creeps, but the hat on the fox is really cute. It kind of reminds me of those old Japanese children’s tales. =)

herzblut translates to lifeblood (or technically heart blood). elizabeth mcgrath’s artwork is pretty wild. sarina brewer also makes some crazy creatures using recycled animal parts.

So creep and cool at the same time! Reminds me a little of the grandma in “Hope Floats.” Familiar? No? I’m the only one that’s watched that too many times…..oh well.

Those taxidermied critters are hilarious!!! My Mom had a ratty old taxidermied raccoon on her porch for years. It was awful. When she passed away, someone actually asked for the thing to remember her by. hahaha……..She would have been appalled. Or maybe it was just me. = )

Who could not love these? Darling outfits on formerly forlorn dead animals?
