For more patterns and embroideries like that you should check out the norwegian national costume, the bunad. I also see lots of swedish influence, so positively scandinavian.

i saved the image of the back of the envelope because it has those tiny pattern piece shapes on it. i’m going to try and blow them up to head size and see if they work. hee hee!
