stuffed mushrooms and escargot

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

i made this while procrastinating…like i need another mushroom-y thing around the house! i was thinking how nice a toadstool pillow would look nestled with the log pillows on the sofa. i made this using the pattern from my toadstool doorstops. i enlarged it 150% and took in the top of the stem a […]

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

i found these little ladies at the thrift store this weekend. i was pretty thrilled! they look like they would be fun to try and make. the bottom is 1 1/4″ tall and the head is about 7/8″. they are from denmark.

the ‘eyes’ have it…or do they?

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

i know there are many fans of big-eye art out there. i find them irresistible myself when i come across them. but i really love the elusive no-eye art and knick knacks… like these pixies and their bottomless gaze… they are salt and pepper shakers. the salt and pepper comes out of their eye sockets. […]

a couple of cute flea market finds

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

my friend and i went to the pasadena city college flea market last weekend. we got there kind of late and people were already packing things up, but i picked up a few cute goodies… a clock for my kitchen. the lady totally lied and told me she plugged it in and it worked but […]

a couple of woodland projects

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

i wanted to make these cute mushroom ornaments. i printed out the tutorial last year but never got around to it. so a few weeks ago i was in joann’s in the styrofoam aisle and i thought ‘oh i can make those cute little mushroom ornaments i’ve been meaning to make forever!’ and i picked up the 6-pack of […]

i put together this page of three different knick knack gift cards for you to download and use for all of your gift-giving needs (or any other occasion where you need a little card!) all you have to do is print them out–i recommend a heavyweight paper or cardstock, and if you have a ‘photo’ setting in […]

spoonflower

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

this may very well become one of my favorite websites. i read about spoonflower a while ago in true up and was pretty excited to learn about it. i’ve been anxiously awaiting an invitation to try out their services during the testing stage, and when it arrived in my inbox last night i was thrilled and whipped […]

more veggie people

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

you’ve seen the fun fruit and vegetable people portraits in my kitchen here, and the veggie folk i adore here. i also love these plastic fruit and veggie people figures…did these come as a kit? (you might recognize two of these guys from my ‘down on the farm’ print) fun veggie critter decals! somebody applied these to […]

dancing creatures

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

i found these guys at the thrift store yesterday. i love them! i wasn’t really planning on going, i was out doing some errands, i turned the corner and the thrift store was calling me. i was compelled to go in. they had been spray painted white but i took the paint off. this is the […]

mary had a little lamb…

Monday, January 7th, 2008

i found the little lamb planter at the thrift store on saturday…i should have been doing a bunch of other things today, but made this picture instead. i couldn’t help myself, the knick knacks just went together too perfectly! it looks like i’m wishing for spring already. i found the dutch girl planter at a thrift store last year, and the […]
